📌 PIM Scanbody Compatible MUA Specification 

This information is essential to prevent scan errors and failed connections as of September 2025.

DOF's PIM solution scans by directly attaching the PIM scanbody to the multi-unit abutment (MUA) in an All-On-X case.

It is essential to verify in advance that the PIM scanbody is compatible with the MUA of the implant system you intend to use.

⚠️If the MUA specifications do not match⚠️️️

If the MUA screw specifications do not match the PIM scanbody, the following issues may occur.

  • Driver or scanbody misalignment prevents connection.
  • Lower accuracy due to scan position distortion.
  • Screw damage caused by loose connection.
  • Failure of the entire PIM scan and retry.

 

1. PIM-Compatible MUA Specifications 

The PIM scanbody is compatible with MUAs that meet the specifications below.
Before use, ensure that the MUA specifications comply with these requirements.

  • MUA head diameter: ≤ ⌀4mm
  • MUA head height: ≤ 3mm
  • Platform diameter: ≥ ⌀4.2mm

  • Even within the same brand, screw specifications may vary depending on the MUA type.
    e.g. MegaGen N-type ≠ S-type
  • Brands not listed in the table (e.g., BioHorizons, Hiossen, Bicon, etc.) may be partially compatible in some cases. For accurate compatibility confirmation, please contact Customer Support or refer to the product manual.
  • If the thread specification (M size) does not match, issues such as improper seating, scan failure, or screw damage may occur.
  • If compatibility is uncertain or if you are using an implant system not listed in the table,
