📌 PIM Basic Workflow
The following steps guide you through the complete PIM basic scanning workflow.
1. Pre-Op And Opposing Scan

- Pre-Op Step: |
In the Pre-Op step, acquire data by scanning the mouth before surgery (before extraction), the mouth with a provisional restoration in place, or the existing denture.

- Opposing Step: |
In the Opposing step, scan the opposing teeth. As this data is used to capture the bite relationship, make sure to capture the occlusal and buccal surfaces clearly. |
2. Bite Scan

- Bite Step: |
Capture the bite relationship using the Pre-Op and opposing scan data. Be sure to scan the bite on both the right and left sides. |
3. Edentulous Base Scan

- Edentulous Base Step: |
Scan the edentulous arch to be scanned with PIM, with the MUAs in place. We recommend capturing the soft tissue landmarks of the edentulous arch clearly. (Upper: palate, palatal rugae, etc. / Lower: retromolar pads, etc.) |
4. PIM Scanbody Scan
|
- PIM Step: |
Attach the PIM scanbodies to the MUAs and the PIM guide to the scanner, then perform the PIM scan. |
5. PIM Alignment Scan
|
- PIM Alignment Step: |
Perform an alignment scan to align the PIM scanbody data with the edentulous base data. |
