- Check margin condition before scan Before intraoral scanning, check the patient’s oral condition. Excessive blood or saliva can affect the scan data, so blood and saliva must be removed prior to scanning. Since the intraoral scanner captures the oral condition as it is, gingival isolation is required in cases with subgingival margins or unclear margins to ensure accurate margin data acquisition.
- Active the Confidence Map Activate the ‘Confidence Map’ tool when scanning the prep and adjacent teeth, and scan thoroughly to ensure that no data is missing. The prep and adjacent teeth should be scanned until all blue highlighted areas on the Confidence Map disappear.

⚠️Precautions During Occlusion Scanning⚠️ | |
Accurate occlusal data cannot be obtained if the patient moves their teeth during scanning. - Ensure the patient maintains a stable centric occlusion throughout the scan. |
Scanning an excessively wide area during bite scan acquisition may reduce the accuracy of the occlusion data. - For bite scans, set the scan area to include only 4–6 teeth in total from the upper and lower arches. |
Before performing the occlusion scan, have the patient open their mouth and position the scanner on the buccal side. - If the scanner is positioned on the buccal side while the patient is in occlusion, unnecessary areas such as the lips or cheeks may be captured, resulting in inaccurate occlusion data. |
