To fabricate a prosthesis for an implant case, a scanbody scan must be performed during the intraoral scanning process.
All data required for an implant case can be acquired by scanning in the following order:
Opposing → Base → Bite → Scanbody.

📌 FREEDOM Air Implant Scan Project Creation
1. Start Scan With Quickstart
In the 'Quickstart' tab, enter the patient's name and tap 'Scan' to launch ScanApp i and begin scanning immediately.
The Scanbody step is required for implant scanning.
After launching ScanApp i, click the 'Additional Scan' icon and add a Scanbody step to the arch that requires scanbody scanning, then proceed with the scan.
2. Start Project Scan With Prosthetic Information
Go to the 'Project' tab and tab the '+Create New Project' button to create a new project.
After creating the project, enter the prosthetic information and launch ScanApp i to begin scanning.
The entered information is transmitted together with the scan data when connected to partner.
The 'Scanbody' step is mandatory for implant scanning. After creating a project, select the restoration type and abutment type, then launch ScanApp i.
If an abutment type has been specified, the Scanbody step will be added automatically when ScanApp i is launched.

To obtain accurate data, proper preparation and scan strategy are essential. Before starting the scan, make sure to review the FREEDOM Air Pre-scan Checklist and Scan Preparation.
- Half-arch scan case: For single implant cases or 2-unit implant bridge cases, sufficient data for prosthesis fabrication can be acquired with a half-arch scan only.
- Full-arch scan case: For implant bridge cases involving three or more units, full-arch data is required, and a full-arch scan should be performed. In such cases, the bite scan is performed twice to acquire bite information from both the right and left sides.

2. Scanbody Scan Strategy |
- Scanbody Placement When placing the scanbody, ensure that the D-cut area is not obstructed by adjacent teeth. Position the scanbody so that the D-cut faces either the lingual or buccal side. - Scanbody Scan Before scanning, verify that the scanbody is fully seated and properly tightened. Start by recognizing the buccal or lingual area of the base scan rather than the occlusal surface, then perform an additional scan of the scanbody. It is recommended to scan the cylindrical portion of the scanbody that connects to the base data first. Scan from multiple angles to ensure that the D-cut area of the scanbody is captured completely without missing data.
