📌 Windows Update & Settings
Before using FREEDOM i, please verify that the Windows settings are correctly configured as follows.
1. Check Windows Update
Check your Windows version and update to the latest version. If the message “You’re up to date” appears, you can close the Settings window.
- How to check and update Windows version: Go to Windows Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates > Update and Close
2. Check Power and Battery Settings
To ensure optimal performance of FREEDOM i, set the battery power mode to 'Best Performance'.
- How to set battery performance: Windows Settings > System > Power & Battery > Set Power Mode to 'Best Performance'
3. Check Wi-Fi Settings
To use FREEDOM i, a Wi-Fi connection is required. Please ensure that both location services and Wi-Fi are enabled.
- How to enable Wi-Fi: Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Turn on 'Wi-Fi'
4. Check Location Services Settings
Location services must be enabled at all times for FREEDOM i to access Wi-Fi information.
- How to enable location services: Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Location > Turn on 'Location Services'
- Allow the app to access your location: Let apps access your location > Make sure ScanApp i is also enabled.
📌 Check And Update Graphics Driver
1. Check Graphics Driver Version
For optimal performance, FREEDOM i recommends installing graphics driver version 576.80 or later.
The installed graphics driver version on the PC can be checked as follows.
- Checking via NVIDIA Control Panel: Show Hidden Icons > Open NVIDIA Control Panel > NVIDIA Control Panel Home Screen > Check Version Information
- Checking via Windows Settings: Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Search for “NVIDIA” > Check Version Information
2. Update Graphics Driver Version
If the graphics driver version installed on your PC is lower than 576.80, you need to update it to the latest version.

1. Check C Drive Storage
FREEDOM i can only be used when the C Drive on your PC has at least 100GB of free space.
Check the free spce on the C Drive, and if it is less than 100GB, free up space by organizing stored data.

📌 Check For Antivirus Programs And Uninstall
1. How to Check and Uninstall Antivirus Programs
Certain antivirus programs may interfere with the installation and operation of the FREEDOM i scanning software. (e.g., Avast, McAfee, etc.)
To use the scanner properly, you need to uninstall these antivirus programs.
- How to uninstall via Windows Settings: Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Search for the app > Select the app > Uninstall
- How to uninstall via Control Panel: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select the program > Uninstall
