📌Laptop Power Connection 

Always keep the laptop connected to power during scanning. Since the scanning software requires high performance, CPU and GPU usage increases, causing the battery to drain quickly.
Even if the battery is fully charged, the laptop must remain connected to power throughout the scanning process.

📌External Lighting Condition 

If external lighting is too strong during scanning, interruptions may occur, reducing the accuracy of the data.
Make sure to turn off external lights, such as the dental chair light and loupe light, before scanning.

📌 Scanner Tip Mirror Condition 

If the mirror of the scanner tip has smudges or contamination, it may affect scanning performance and data accuracy.
Before starting a scan, check the tip mirror. If contamination is found, remove it using a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

📌Patient Intraoral Condition 

Before intraoral scanning, check the patient’s oral condition. Excessive blood or saliva can affect the scan data, so blood and saliva must be removed prior to scanning.

Since the intraoral scanner captures the oral condition as it is, gingival isolation is required in cases with subgingival margins or unclear margins to ensure accurate margin data acquisition.
Common isolation methods include gingivectomy using a laser or the use of cord.

📌Choosing The Appropriate Scanner Tip 

FREEDOM Air provides two types of scanner tips: the regular tip and the small tip. Select the tip type according to the scanning area and your scanning needs.

Used for general scanning	Used for scanning small or limited areas, such as pediatric patients, distal molars, and adjacent teeth near abutments.

1. Field Of View(FOV) By Tip Type 

The scanning field of view (FOV) differs depending on the tip type.

The Normal tip is recommended for most scans.
The Small tip is recommended for specific cases, such as pediatric patients, posterior molars, or adjacent teeth near prep teeth.

When changing the tip, the scanner automatically detects the tip type without any additional settings, allowing you to continue scanning.

📌Scan Mode Settings 

The FREEDOM Air automatically switches between Intraoral / Edentulous / Model modes depending on the scanning subject.
Scanning in auto-detection mode is recommended without any additional settings.

Scan mode can be manually changed from the Tool bar if needed.

1. Setting The [Scan Mode] From The 'Tool bar' 

Press the down button on the D-Pad or click the Tool bar in the scanning software to enter the 'Tool bar', then change the [Scan Mode].

Detects the scanning subject and automatically switches to the appropriate scan mode.	Applied when scanning the oral cavity. Automatically filters unnecessary data. 📌Cable Connection And LED Status 

1. Check Cable Connections 

Before starting a scan, ensure that the scanner body and PC are properly connected via the cables and PSM.
All cables must be securely connected without any looseness.

Tighten the screws on the cables fully until they stop turning when connecting them to the scanner body.

2. Check LED Status 

After confirming the cable connections, turn on the scanner and check the LED indicators on the scanner body.
