📌 PIM KIT Cleaning And Sterilization Guide 

 

The PIM Scan Body is supplied in a non-sterile condition. For patient safety, it must be sterilized before use.

Cleaning and sterilization should be performed according to the instructions below.

Using a product that has not been properly sterilized may lead to infection; therefore, always ensure the scanbody is sterile before use.

 

1. Cleaning And Sterilization Materials 

Dry Cleaning Cloth

Diluted Detergent (Endozime)

Soft Nylon Brush

Sterilization Bac 
(Or pouch)

Detergent Concentration: 0.4% Diluted Solution
(Endozime 4 mL 
+ 1 L of tap water)

 

2. Cleaning And Sterilization Method 

 

- PIM Scanbody & Cap Scanbody 

[ Cleaning Method ]

① Rinse under running water and gently remove contaminants using a soft brush.

② Soak in a pH-neutral, enzymatic detergent for 5–10 minutes, following the detergent manufacturer's instructions. (Do not soak the device in enzymatic detergent for longer than recommended.)

③ Rinse thoroughly under running water to remove any remaining detergent.
Dry completely before packaging.

④ Dry completely before packaging. (For cloth, use a dry, lint-free cloth) 

⑤ Place the device in appropriate sterilization packaging.

⑥ Autoclave according to the recommended sterilization conditions.

 

️⚠️Caution⚠️️

  • ✕ Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner.
  • ✕ Do not soak in alcohol.
  • ✕ Do not use strongly alkaline detergents under any circumstances.

[ Cleaning Method ]

① Wipe off contaminants with running water for more than 30 seconds. 

② Soak in diluted detergent (Endozime) for more than 30 seconds. 
Wipe the contaminants from the crevices with a soft brush. 

③ Wash with flowing purified water for more than 30 seconds. 

④ Remove moisture by wiping with a clean non-absorbent or soft cloth.
(For cloth, use a dry, lint-free cloth) 

⑤ If the stain is still present after following the above procedure, replace the guide and cover. 

⑥ Wiping with strong force may scratch the lens, which may affect the quality of the scanned data. 

⑦ Place cleaned, dried guide and cover in a sterile bag (or pouch) and seal tightly. 

⑧ Place the guide and cover in the autoclave while the bag (or pouch) is still sealed.

 

3. Steam (Autoclave) Sterilization Conditions 

Autoclave Sterilization Conditions

134℃ / 273.2℉

Heating for 15 minutes / Drying for30 minutes

⚠️Do not use non-recommended sterilization methods:
 such as low-temperature gas, dry heat, or plasma sterilization.
Only steam (autoclave) sterilization is approved for this product.⚠️

 

️⚠️Caution⚠️️

  • This product is supplied in a non-sterile condition. For patient safety, it must be sterilized before use.
  • The scan body should be used only with implant systems and CAD/CAM libraries verified by the manufacturer.
  • Avoid dropping the scan body or applying excessive torque, as it may cause damage.
  • If wear, discoloration, deformation, or poor fit is observed, discontinue use immediately.
  • The scan body must not be fixed in the oral cavity for an extended period. It should be removed immediately after scanning.

PIM KIT Storage Method

  • After sterilization, store the kit in a clean, dry environment, sealed in a sterile pouch.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humid environments, and store in a medical device storage cabinet or airtight container.

  • For long-term storage, follow the sterilization validity period (typically within 30 days), and re-sterilize the kit once the validity period has expired.

PIM KIT Maintenance Method

  • This product is reusable, and the number of uses and sterilizations must be recorded for proper management.

  • If the scan body shows scratches, wear, or deformation of its specific pattern, it should be discarded and replaced immediately.

  • Regularly check the connection between the driver and the torque wrench. If loosening or wear is detected, replace the component immediately.
